As Black History Month comes to a close, Tom Morgan and Esther Charlestin invite the congregation to consider how simple questions can lead to opportunities for generative change. They are preparing us for our Congregational vote after worship on March 5 on a proposed covenant from our CVUUS Board. It is based on language from UUA’s proposed 8th principle about dismantling racism and other oppressions, that we have been discussing over the past months. Non-members are welcome to attend and participate in discussion, but may not vote:
The Champlain Valley Unitarian Universalist Society, shall affirm and promote the following covenant to dismantle racism and other oppressions: We commit to journey toward spiritual wholeness by working to build a diverse multicultural Beloved Community through our actions that accountably dismantle racism and other oppressions in ourselves and our institutions.
We share our offering this month with Razom for Ukraine. Watch a you tube video about them here.
